NEW YORK—Shiping Lu said she still sometimes dreams of the police in China chasing her. The 47-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, originally from the Chinese city of Harbin, now lives in Finland with her husband. This past week she was in New York where she joined 8,000 practitioners from around the world for a conference involving a series of events that celebrate the wonderfulness of the spiritual practice, but also remind of the persecution in China, and those still suffering from the terrible oppression.

Every practitioner has a story. Before Lu gained asylum in Europe in 2007, her life had gone from peaceful to a series of tumultuous, tragic events.

She has been practicing since 1995, when a 28-year-old Lu came across the books of Falun Dafa at her mother’s house.

BEIJING— A Beijing man who supplied information to a dissident-run U.S.-based news website has been detained on charges he made up stories that disparaged the Chinese government, police said Tuesday.

Xiang Nanfu was accused of providing false stories to Boxun.com that authorities harvested organs and buried people alive, according to a police statement. It said Xiang worked with Boxun.com to incite public dissatisfaction against the government.

Last week, China announced the detention of a prominent journalist, Gao Yu. She was accused of leaking a document from the ruling Communist Party to a publication abroad.

The Slaughter: Doctors Witness Live Organ Harvesting

Following the exposure of Chinese Communist Party’s live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, more and more secret investigations have been conducted to identify the authenticity of the allegation. The Slaughter is a new book soon to be released in August. Written by former U.S. think tank researcher Ethan Gutmann, this book illustrates the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners by a doctor who eye witnessed the entire process.

Recently, Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting interviewed former U.S. think tank researcher Ethan Gutmann about his new book The Slaughter, a painstaking collective investigation and records of live organ harvesting of more than 100 witnesses.

Among them was a surgeon with a peerless reputation for integrity and candor. He has personal and direct knowledge of the organ harvesting of Falun Gong in the Chinese mainland, said Gutmann. On August 12 when the book is released, the experience and identity of the doctor will be revealed.

Parliamentarians Against Forced Organ Harvesting Forms In Asia

Upon the insistent exposure of the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong, especially the crimes of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, many more international communities have stood up for justice demanding the end of the persecution. Recently, Parliamentarians Against Forced Organ Harvesting (PAFOH) in Asia branch was created, with 27 parliamentarians from Taiwan, Australia and Hong Kong.

Since early 2014, International Care Association of Organ Transplant and Human Rights Law Foundation in Taiwan have pushed forward the establishment of PAFOH.

Falun Gong, the Government of China and Organ Pillaging

To form any trade agreement with China requires consideration on a raft of issues ranging from labor standards and environmental protection, to human rights. It also means admitting that China is ruled by oligarchs and plutocrats, has no regard for the rule of law and allows state-sponsored organ harvesting.

“I don‘t know why any rational person would want to [sign] an agreement with China in any matter… Personally, I wouldn’t even enter an agreement with China selling popcorn,” says David Kilgour, a former member of the Canadian parliament who is internationally known for his commitment to ending human rights abuses across the globe.

It was a message Kilgour delivered during his visit to Taipei earlier this month. Having served as a member of parliament for 27 years, during which he did a stint as Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific between 2002 and 2003, the former politician has been a long-term observer of Taiwan’s democratization. To show his support for the Sunflower movement, Kilgour arrived on April 8, and immediately went to the then-occupied Legislative Yuan where he gave speeches outside and talked at length to protestors.

Europe Must Help End Forced Organ Harvesting in China

McMillan-ScottBy  | April 25, 2014

On Dec. 12, 2013, the European Parliament passed a resolution (that I sponsored) unequivocally condemning the Chinese regime’s forced organ harvesting, especially from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience, and calling for an EU investigation into the practice.

The same week, a U.S. congressional sub-committee on Asia & Pacific adopted a parallel resolution, and a 1.5-million signature petition was presented to the United Nations.

This global response came on top of a series of similar resolutions by parliaments and professional associations in recent times.

These actions are ending the credibility gap about the genocidal crime of selecting and killing prisoners, especially Falun Gong practitioners, for body parts. Falun Gong are a benign, Buddha-school of qigong spiritual exercises, once practiced by 70–100 million in China. Today they are the only prisoners in China to be blood- and urine-tested as part of the selection process, and thousands have been tissue-matched and then literally killed to order at 1 of the 169 transplant centers across China. Some 10,000 operations are carried out each year and the organs mostly come from prisoners, because organ donation hardly exists in China, for cultural reasons.

Why Is Falun Gong Persecuted?

China Uncensored( Video 1 ) So much evidence points towards a systematic organ harvesting mainly of living Falun Gong practitioners. To understand why the persecution of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa began in China, we need to take a look at how former Chinese leader and the man who started the persecution Jiang Zemin came to power. Jiang came to power following the Tiananmen Square Massacre and the ousting of two important leaders in the Chinese Communist Party, and Zhao Ziyang and Hu Yaobang, who’s death sparked the Tiananmen Protests. But Jiang Zemin’s position was shaky. He would need something to cement his power.

( Video 2 ) During the largest gathering in Beijing since the Tiananmen Square Massacre, 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners peacefully gathered around the central appeals office next to Zhongnanhai on April 25, 1999 to appeal for their right to freely practice Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa. Former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin used this as a pretext to launch a nationwide crackdown that lead to a brutal persecution that continues to this day, and allowed the creation of the gestapo-like 610 Office.

( Video 3 ) What are the consequences of genocide? In 1999, Jiang Zemin declared that the Communist Party of China had to eradicate Falun Gong or else. In doing so, Jiang Zemin, and supporters like Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Li Dongsheng, Luo Gan and Zeng Qinghong, amassed massive power and untold fortunes through the persecution. But now, current Chinese leader Xi Jinping is waging an anti-corruption campaign that’s taking out members of Jiang’s Shanghai clique one by one. But is there more too it than meets the eye? Find out on the final installment of China Uncensored’s three part series on Falun Gong and why it’s persecuted in China.

Top Chinese Transplant Official Says There’s No Plan to Stop Using Prisoner Organs

WangHaibo1339266555184_1339266555184_rBy Epoch Times | April 11, 2014

Wang Haibo, an unofficial spokesperson on China’s organ transplant policies, recently told a well-known German journalist that the Chinese regime had no intention of announcing a schedule for weaning itself off the use of organs from executed prisoners.

“The question is, ‘When can China solve the problem of the shortage of donor organs?’ I wish we could end it tomorrow. But it requires a process,” he said in a radio program on ARD, a major German public broadcast network.

“Many things are beyond our control,” he added. “Therefore, we can not announce any time schedule.”

The journalist, Ruth Kirchner, said that Wang agreed to the interview “after long hesitation, because organ donation connected to the death penalty is a sensitive issue in China.”

International Transplant Community Raises Voice Against China’s Abuses

cntransplant1-1024x658By Epoch Times | April 7, 2014

Two foremost international transplant organizations have penned an open letter to Xi Jinping, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, calling China’s system of organ transplantation corrupt and “scorned by the international community,” while exhorting the Party leader to make thoroughgoing changes.

The publication of the missive jointly signed by the Transplantation Society and the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group, which appears in the journal Transplantation this month, represents a sharp break from the careful and nonconfrontational approach that the international transplant establishment has for years taken toward China. In the past, voices of criticism were hardly to be heard above the enthusiastic promises of cooperation and tinkling of cocktail glasses at diplomatic receptions.

Students Object to Award for Chinese Transplant Official

Hong Kong University (HKU) defended its honorary doctorate award this month to one of the architects of China’s highly criticized organ transplant system after the University of Hong Kong Students’ Union criticized the decision.

After meeting with China’s former vice minister for health, Huang Jiefu, the union issued the critical statement, pointing to Huang’s admission that the Chinese regime had taken organs from prisoners sentenced to death. A spokesperson for the students’ union said Huang told them he did not know where the organs came from, that he represented only the recipient, a position that did not seem to square with his own admissions of removing organs from executed prisoners.

Issue of China’s Forced Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Raised at UNHRC

UNHRC-5By Epoch Times | March 31, 2014

The Chinese regime’s macabre practice of killing Falun Gong practitioners for their organs was raised before the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva recently by the Vancouver-based Lawyer’s Rights Watch Canada.

Speaking at a session reviewing the UNHRC’s report on China’s human rights record, Vani Selvarajah of Lawyer’s Rights Watch Canada reiterated a recent European Parliament resolution demanding an immediate end to the forced harvesting of organs from prisoners of conscience in China, “mainly Falun Gong practitioners.”

Chinese React Against Organ Harvesting Crimes

Exposure is growing about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. Nearly 1.5 million people globally have signed a petition calling for the CCP’s live organ harvesting practices to end. In China, people have also started a wave of petitions, and are demanding an investigation into these crimes. In Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, as many as 11,015 Chinese have signed a petition.

Following persistent exposure and clarification about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, more Chinese people are becoming aware of these crimes. A petition to end live organ harvesting has rapidly spread across China. In mid-December 2012, 310 people in China signed a petition to end organ harvesting, and a call to investigate the involvement of CCP officials Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai. At the end of 2013, a further 6,259 people have also signed the petition. During 2014, petitions against live organ harvesting continue to grow inside China.

Organ Harvest Concerns Raised as Chinese Leader Visits Europe

EU_7By Epoch Times | March 26, 2014

An organization in Europe has sought to put organ harvesting in China at the top of the agenda during the current trip to Europe of Chinese Communist Party general secretary Xi Jinping.

Xi arrived in Europe on March 22. He met with U.S. President Barack Obama on March 24 and is holding meetings with various European officials and governmental representatives, among them European Council President Herman Van Rompuy.

The European Economic and Social Committee said its plan was to “welcome” Xi Jinping to Europe when they held a forum on March 19 which announced that the Chinese regime’s use of organs “from prisoners of conscience, executed persons, and minorities groups, to be sold in China or outside the country, is a disgrace for humanity and should end immediately.”

Evidence Pointing to Organ Harvesting: “DNA” Label on a Vial of Blood

Vial of BloodMinghui.org l March 25, 2014 | By Yinzheng from China

When I was held in a women’s prison, they took a sample of my blood. The label on the test tube said, “Blood-DNA.” At that time, I only knew that DNA had something to do with genes and could be used in paternity tests. I wasn’t sure why I had to have a DNA test in prison.

I recently found out that DNA screening is required for an organ transplant. I then remembered that I had read about living Falun Gong practitioners having their organs removed and sold to patients who needed organs.

It suddenly became clear to me that the things the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials did to practitioners who were imprisoned, including blood tests and DNA screening, were connected to organ harvesting. The results from blood and DNA tests were logged in a database so that the information could be retrieved any time someone needed to purchase an organ.

European Committee Blasts Forced Organ Harvesting in China

EU-2NTDTV – Mar 22, 2014

A high profile conference was held in Brussels on Tuesday for the representatives of the civil society, European Parliament, NGOs, doctors and lawyers on organ harvesting in China.

“Scandalous and unacceptable” — that is what the European Social and Economic Committee is calling the practice of organ harvesting from live prisoners of conscince in China.

[Henri Malosse, President of EESC]:
“It is really scandalous what’s happened and unfortunately is still happening in China with authorities authorizing the harvesting, stealing of organs from prisoners, people coming from minorities, from executed persons to be sold to foreigners or to local people. This is not acceptable.”

Inmates Being Kept Alive for Organ Match

george-676x450The View From Inside China’s Brutal Prison System
By  | March 20, 2014

By now many of us heard the Chinese Communist Party’s promises to close its system of forced labor camps. While I sincerely hope this comes to pass, the other forms of detention in China have not gone away—in particular, the regime’s notorious prison system remains as brutal and lawless as ever. I was an inmate of Chinese jails for seven years, and have seen and experienced what conditions there are like.

Abuses in countries outside China have been reported because inspectors are allowed there. But never since the Communist Party came to power in 1949 has it allowed unfettered, independent investigation of its vast detention system. When UN personnel visited in 2005, their movements were severely restricted.

David Matas Speaks About Organ Harvesting in Finland

EP+Seminar+07+Feb+2014-676x450Finland Gets a Taste of Chinese Communist Political Struggle

By Epoch Times | March 19, 2014

The small Nordic country of Finland was recently treated to a peculiar piece of political theater: A Chinese woman was kicked out of its anti-immigration party for being too discriminatory.

This particular conflict had its genesis in an unassuming email sent by the organizer of a human rights forum. The topic? Organ harvesting in China. Specifically, the harvesting of organs of living practitioners of Falun Gong, a persecuted spiritual discipline, by the Chinese Communist Party’s military and security apparatus.

Belle Selene Xia, a deputy city councilor of Helsinki with the True Finns, a right-wing political group that tries to stay out of trouble, received the email. Xia happens to be a staunch supporter of the policies of the Chinese Communist Party. Some people in her position, occupying political office in a famously liberal country, might therefore ignore the email. But not Xia.

Organ Harvesting in China “a scandalous practice”

488px-EESC_logo.svgEuropean Economic and Social Committee – EESC,

PRESS RELEASE No 20/2014

The President of the European Economic and Social Committee – EESC, Henri Malosse, opened the Conference entitled “Organ Harvesting in China: Europe must act now” hosted at the EESC in Brussels. He considered ‘scandalous’ that such a practice is being undertaken by the Chinese authorities and hoped the European Union leaders would take up the issue with Chinese president, Mr. Xi Jinping, during his visit to Brussels on the 31st March 2014.

President Malosse declared that using body parts from prisoners of conscience, executed persons and minorities groups, to be sold in China or outside the country, is a disgrace for humanity and should end immediately.Speakers in the debate also included Members of the European Parliament, representatives of NGOs, lawyers and doctors fighting against the practice, calling for the respect of the fundamental rights in China. They all affirmed that the trafficking in human organs violates medical ethics and international human rights standards adopted by the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Medical Association, the Transplantation Society and other international organizations.
